Welcome to the Pacman Experiment |
|||
|
The purpose of this experiment is to link types of players to examples of different styles of play,
as exhibited in Pacman. Thus, you'll be asked to download and play an implementation of Pacman,
then complete a survey designed to identify what type of player you are. In order to link your survey results with your Pacman game, the software records the internet address (IP) of the machine you use to complete each - this allows you to remain anonymous, but requires that you use the same machine with the same internet connection details, in both cases. It's probably a good idea to scan the README installed with Pacman, and play the game a few times just to get used to it. |
This is not the original Pacman, and although it's fairly self-explanatory, you should try to become familiarised if you have time. Remember, for the integrity of the experiment you must complete both: the DGD play styles survey, and at least one Pacman game, from the same IP address. If you don't know what an IP address is, just make sure you use the same computer to do both things consecutively - i.e. play the game then immediately complete the survey. That should do the trick! < Click here to download Pacman > To install for Windows, simply unzip Pacman.zip and double click the setup.exe file. Accept the DirectX installer - it won't alter your current configuration if you already have everything the game needs. < Click here to take the survey > Remember to turn off your pop-up blocker before submitting your answers or you may not see your results! In the case of technical issues, send an email to zenphd AT googlemail DOT com, describing the nature of the problem and quoting your operating system details if you know them. |
